I chose this ad because I think has some real pulling power, again I'm a sucker for anything that looks cool but I was intrigued by the shifting white form throughout. Also I think I could make this with my friends, and I'm not praising our skills but rather recognizing that this is a rather simple concept and whenever simple concepts are executed beautifully you can have an amazing result. Technically this video isn't that challenging but it is extremely interesting and that's all thanks to the creative team's idea to illustrate how people normally interact with Google, a search bar, and transform it into how they should interact with google, the Pixel their new phone. It all stems from that beautiful idea so that all the video needed were some strong random visuals to keep it fresh.
I think the target is everyone, I mean they show all kinds of people doing all kinds of things and google has played a pivotal role in democratizing knowledge. I think this ad eloquently portrays how they'd like to expand that role with their new phone. The message itself is simple here's this shiny new thing we just made, check it out.
The objective is pretty clearly just to announce the Pixel as the next great thing from Google, and to build some interest around it. The mood is nice and fun throughout that also helps build Google as a lifestyle brand not some rigid tech company.
